Ebalta, a German supplier of specialised epoxy and polyurethane for mould and tool making, has opened a 2,000m2 plant and production line. The Rothenberg site will manufacture Ebablock materials; jointless blocks of either polyurethane or epoxy.

According to the company, its products require no post processing, which shortens milling times, reduces waste and therefore provides customers with an economical product for producing patterns and models.

"We are happy to say that 2008 was a fantastic business year for Ebalta,” said Andre Neutzler, the company’s managing director, "and we expect further growth in our business during the second half of 2009."

"The difficult economic climate experienced during the past few months will force industry leaders to develop new products and 90% of Ebalta's customers work in the field of development."

The newly production line launched, high performance Ebablock EP 138 is the first epoxy cast to size material on the market, according to Ebalta. It can be cast close to contour in volumes up.to 600 litres and up to 250mm in thickness.
